ABOUT ME-
 Blurb

Hello,

My name is Charlotte McPherson. I am an Actor/Singer of twenty-one years of age. I have been heavily involved in performing arts ever since I can remember. Originally, I started my career as a musical theatre performer, attending local amateur dramatic societies and clubs before moving to London to attend Susi Earnshaw Theatre School (2012-2015) and The Arts Educational Schools (2015-2017). Through studying musical theatre, I discovered my passion for modern theatre which aided in making my decision to study acting for my degree. Currently, I am finishing my final year at Falmouth University studying for a BA(Hons) in Acting. Throughout my years of training within the performing arts industry, I have participated in numerous workshops from the likes of musical theatre professionals such as Peter Polycarpou, and casting workshops with professionals such as Andrea Clark. I have also worked with industry professionals throughout my many years of training. I have had much experience with both theatre and screen acting, and currently work as a professional singer in a band. I am very much looking forward to getting out into the industry once my training is completed, and excited to see what the future has in store. Please feel free the have a look around this web page, which I have specifically created to display my work...

Bibliography, About me...

I'm currently studying for a BA(Hons) in Acting, as it's always been my dream to make a career out of television/film acting and singing. I'm also fully trained in musical theatre, as I previously studied at The Arts Educational Schools, where I gained a BTEC in musical theatre and an A-level in Media/ Film studies. Prior to that I completed full-time education studying performing arts at Susi Earnshaw Theatre School in north London, where I won the musical theatre award back in 2014.

Credits include the semi-professional stage adaptation of Polka Dot Academy's 'Fantastic Mr. Fox', a vocalist narrator in The Arts Educational Schools adaptation of 'Assasins', 'Natalia' in the short film 'Locked In', 'Debbie' in Polka Dot Academy's production of 'Billy Elliot' which toured the East Midlands in 2011/2012.

Personal Statment

My life as a creative artist...

I am currently in my final year at Falmouth University studying for a BA(Hons) in Acting. Before that, I completed the sixth form at The Arts Educational Schools in London, and full-time education studying Performing Arts at Susi Earnshaw theatre school (having been awarded a scholarship since 2012). Being a creative performer has developed me as a person, through gaining the attributes which are considered necessary for any singer/actor, and great social skills which allow me to confidently communicate with others. I am an artist who can stay calm and work efficiently under strict time schedules.

Specialising in acting and singing, I have been professional training in singing, drama, and dance as well as being given a sound academic education in media. I successfully gained a grade eight musical theatre qualification in which I passed successfully with a distinction. In studying acting and singing, I strongly feel as though I have gained a better understanding and general knowledge of the profession and it's working environment. I am easily able to learn scripts and dialogue on my own accord and practice any advice or improvement given by directors at home or in my own spare time. I am an organised individual in always meeting work deadlines on time and completing any tasks given to do. I am reliable on ensuring all my work is completed and to a high standard of professionalism.

I am highly motivated by my passion for the performing arts and determined to make a successful career in this sphere. Ambitious, portraying all the attributes associated with a good work ethic, I am equally effective when working on my initiative, as I am when taking instruction from others. Creative, I can come up with new and inventive ideas that I can add to my performance in shows that make my character interesting and more in-depth with their personality. Self- Disciplined, I like to always work professionally no matter the size or scale of the production and rehearse outside of the rehearsal time as well in developing on the character more, this also allows me to turn up to rehearsals well-rehearsed and prepared.

Currently, I am also running my own band called 'The Mos Eisley Crue', alongside studying Drama. Within the band I take lead vocals whilst additionally managing the group, booking gigs and working on promoting the band. Having worked on the band for the past year, it has developed my skills of being a confident performer who's able to work efficiently and fairly in a group.
